2015 marks my 10th anniversary as an Artistic Nature Photographer. This has been a remarkable year for me with many accomplishments and awards. My solo exhibition at the Sarasota Orchestra's Harmony Gallery was an outstanding success with numerous praise from my peer artist friends and a number of purchases. Recent exhibits at the Art Center Venice and Selby Botanical Gardens exhibition awarded me several prizes, including a First Place award for the Selby Category. Then in May 3, 2016 I earned several more prizes. In january 2016 I was inducted into the NLAPW - National League of Pen Women - an organization that recognizes women in art, literature and music. This is both an honor and an achievement for reaching a goal of this caliber. I continue to be part of the Dancing Crane gallery of artists, showcasing my art throughout the year. My style is unique. By using simple stroke lines and off-centered presentation I create a work of art that is captivating to the eye. I use a semi-maco approach focusing on a key element of the image. I try to bring out the best feature of a flower, leaf or tree to capture the soul of the image. During my anniversary year saw new challenges and unique environments as I traveled first to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State and later to Morocco - both challenges in landscape and environment. Have a look at all these images as I make these worlds come alive. Polly Curran
